Hi, I’m Jan, the founder behind BrandBits. I lead a small team of professionals who build and support the platform with me. I want to tell you who actually stands behind the tools you’re considering, because BrandBits isn’t a faceless software company. It’s the product of a lifetime spent figuring out what genuinely helps a business grow online.

It started with curiosity (and a 12-year-old who wouldn’t stop tinkering)

I was hooked on this stuff before it was a career. Around 28 years ago, as a 12-year-old, I was already building websites and experimenting with marketing online, figuring out how to create pages that actually attracted visitors. As a teenager I also got into cybersecurity, which gave me a solid technical foundation early on. That early obsession never really went away; it just turned into a profession.

20 years in the trenches of marketing and development

Twenty years ago I started working as a developer inside marketing agencies. That gave me a front-row seat to what businesses really need: not the buzzwords, but the practical things that bring in visitors, turn them into leads, and keep customers engaged.

From there I went on to build several SaaS products, including work with Fortune 500 companies on large-scale platforms. So I’ve seen both ends of the spectrum: the scrappy small business trying to get noticed, and the enterprise systems running at massive scale.

The landscape keeps changing, and I’ve changed with it

Online marketing and technology have transformed enormously over the years, and I’ve adjusted and stayed on top of it the whole way through. There’s a lot of hype and noise out there. Because of my experience, I know what to ignore and what to focus on.

That’s really the heart of BrandBits: a blend of the essentials that have always worked, combined with the modern developments that actually matter. No bloat, no chasing trends for the sake of it.

And it’s why we’re intentional about size. We don’t want to grow BrandBits into a huge, impersonal company, because that’s simply not compatible with the level of support we want to give. There’s a maximum number of subscribers we’ll take on, and once we reach it, we’ll close registration.
